Re: To Hunter |
Yeah, I was impressed by that too...frankly, it confirms my early predictions that both the Cavs/Magic are still over-rated, not truly tested, not worthy, but that sounds too harsh, so I'll stop.
Besides, I'd love to meet your Celts in the finals.
Really. Gotta love your kid Rondo; we'll be fouling him EVERY possession, so buck up...

Re: To Hunter |
What are you two (SDH & WT) talking about ? If it's some kind of sport I feel obliged to point out (as no-one else will) that England won the World Twenty20 yesterday.
And now back to the music.

Re: To Hunter |
sorry, snori; yes, he is a Boston Celtics fan, by birth/growing up rights (if I have it right), and I am an LA Lakers fan, by my father (big UCLA fan in the 60s), though I grew up in No Cal.
However, we both live in Arizona, and thus, also find ourselves rooting for the PHX Suns (Steve Nash, soccer fan himself?!)...
With luck, Celts and Lakers meet once again in the finals and SDH and Micah (the punk below) are deeply, deeply disappointed...(damn, or me!).

Re: To Hunter |
Alles klar. But I still prefer a SBD to a Matrix, most likely because I never saw the Dead outside of the U.K. and therefore the 'atmosphere' effect means little to me.

Re: To Hunter |
Ah--had to think about that one for a minute...as the sappy sentimentalist that I be, I feel bad for hunter; I have an even thinner skin (and that's not meant as a knock--just a way with some of "us"). With respect to the academic question at hand, like you, I prefer a SBD, though that's more to do with my history of having grown up with such poor AUDs (when it was all we had more often than not!) that the repeated experience of SBD clarity that came my way the past five yrs just blew me away, and biased me toward them even more...
That said, the sublime AUD sound of 8-6-71 is always in the back of my mind, and thus, I have sampled some matrx shows that have appeared among my "all time favs" (eg, 9-19-70), and been very happy with them...since they have always been great shows, I am not always sure much was "added" (ie, perfecting perfection, if you follow), BUT would never have concluded they have been in any way degraded, much less "violated"; nor would I have ever dreamed of letting someone know that I thought such things knowingly (gulp...fear in my gut that Rob searches deep in the archives and uncovers some post of mine doing exactly that!).

Re: To Hunter |
I should have added that I wouldn't want Hunter to stop producing Matrices - he does it well, many folks here clearly appreciate them, and I'm all in favour of there being a choice. it's just not this man's cup of char.

Re: To Hunter |
In the words of the cargo ship-hijacking penguin from "Madagascar":
"Well, this sucks"
Suns get blown out and the Sox rip my soul out yet again. This day's gonna be great.
Hopefully the Celts can once again lift my mood tonight.
